Membership in this United Methodist Church, like any Christian church around the world, begins with baptism and then moves out into the world through a life of service and witness. Our pastor, Scott Hagan, spends an evening every few months with visitors and members talking about these beliefs of our faith. This is a great time to ask questions and pursue a life devoted to following Jesus Christ as his disciple. Our first class was offered in January 2008, and the next was offered in July 2008. This is the place to start because this is the place where we talk about baptism. Baptism is the way Christians believe we get our start in the journey of faith we embark on with Jesus Christ. It is through the sacrament of baptism that a person is initiated into the Body of Christ - the church - and brought on board with God's mighty plan to redeem the world. Baptism is symbolic of new birth and Jesus refers to both water and the Spirit when he teaches on the subject.
